  1. Files smaller than the set amount are not compressed before they are transferred, and also not pre-compressed.

  3. This is because a very small file can't be compressed sufficiently enough to make it worth the extra processing time for compression, or the extra disk space to store it in compressed form.

  5. The smallest value that can be set is 256 bytes. The largest value is 128K, or 131,072 bytes.
